With a long-held interest in architecture and sustainability, James has more than 16 years of experience in the built environment. He heads up the Sustainability group at Hoare Lea, leading the firm’s specialist services in this ever-developing area.
James’ experience has given him an in-depth understanding of how to realise the value of sustainable schemes, managing projects that span a multitude of sectors and geographies. He is committed to embedding sustainable practices into the heart of all schemes – alongside balancing the commercial needs of the client, the wider functionality of the building, and the end-user experience. The Sustainability group’s progressive work on strategies, developments, PR, and implementation is defining the firm as a leader in the area.
James also influenced the group’s early adoption of a unified Health & Wellbeing approach to projects. By considering everything from daylighting and comfort, to intelligent building technologies and natural ventilation, he has incorporated user-centred designs into award-winning and world-leading developments.
