Louisa is a Partner at Hawkins\Brown, running a team of architects working in several sectors including Education, Residential and Mixed Use. She has been involved in several award winning projects including the New Biochemistry Building for the University of Oxford and Hilden Grange Preparatory School Ritblat Building. Her main specialism and interest is in education buildings and she has recently completed the Urban Sciences Building at Newcastle University, the first University building within the Helix masterplan. The concept is a Living Lab, with the building itself containing infrastructure to enable research into urban sustainability from energy storage to health and well-being.
Louisa also manages the input of the in-house Sustainable Design Consultant and Sustainability Group. She pushes teams to think about sustainable design from the earliest point of the design, embed the principles within the design concept and develop interesting narratives to communicate this to a wider audience.
