Director, DP Architects - Singapore
Mr Vikas M Gore was born in the United States and grew up in India. He came to Singapore on a holiday after graduating. Upon joining DP Architects, he ended up liking his job so much it still feels like a holiday, in his words. Except for a brief period to pursue a postgraduate degree in Washington University and a couple of years working in the USA and Canada, he has been at DP Architects since then.
His experience spans a wide range of projects including religious, institutional, infrastructure, retail, offices, residential and hospitality.
Mr Gore was the project director for the renowned Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay performing arts centre in Singapore.
In addition to his responsibility as a member of the DP board of directors, Mr Gore is in charge of DP Architects full scope of work in India and heads the subsidiary DP Infrastructure.
He was also responsible for introducing the firm to computers and Computer-Aided Design in the 1980s and today is the director in charge of Building Information Modelling at DP Architects.
Subscribing to the view that quality detailing and excellence in execution is fundamental to the realisation of good design, Mr Gore manages projects from inception to their completion. He has taught at the National University of Singapore as a member of the visiting faculty, a design critic and an external examiner.
