Senior Projects Director, Design and Development ,URC
Waleed Shaalan is a B.Sc Architecture graduate from the University of Maryland , USA and G.C.E University of London and a LEED GA . He is Currently the senior projects director at the United Real Estate Company and is leading the design on current and future projects. Prior to joining URC , Waleed was design principal at SSH, Kuwait leading the design studio a team of architects including an in house model maker.
Some of his achievements include winning the World Architecture Festival award for best future leisure led development in Singapore 2012 for the design and construction of the Junoot Eco Resort in collaboration with California Institute of Earth Art and Architecture. Collaboration with Cloud-9 in Barcelona in the design of a multistory residential tower in Kuwait. Winning first prize for the Ahamadi residential competition a residential suburb of over 200 villas for the Kuwait Oil Company. Project is currently under construction. The list of projects include the Kuwait Diplomatic Club, Montazah resort in Sharm El Sheikh Egypt, Oxy headquarters competition in Oman.
