Head of Fire and Life Safety, WSP
Based in Dubai, as Head of Fire and Life Safety, Alexander oversees WSP Middle East’s regional FLSoperations. With a Bachelors of Science in Fire Engineering from The University of Maryland and more than 16 years of experience leading fire strategy design, performance based design, fire and egress modelling, code compliance reviews, and special project design, His approach is based upon apragmatic fire and life safety appraoch that meets operational, fictional, aesthetic, and safety requirements. In addition, He has a key role in liaising with approving authorities which is a key element to deliver a successful fire strategy and is also a member of the UAE Fire and Life Safety Code development committee. Alexander has delivered fire strategies for large scale and high profile projects such as mixed-use, retail, hospitality, and residential projects around the world—from The U.S., UAE, KSA, China, Latvia and the UK. Currently, he focuses on large-scale projects in the Middle East—including a city wide fire strategy and framework for a city in KSA, ongoing super high rise projects in Dubai, mall expansions and refurbishments and a series of assessments of existing buildings throughout the region
