Regional Discipline Leader – Specialist Consulting, Buro Happold
Based in the Dubai office, Chris Chennell is the discipline leader for Specialist Consulting at BuroHappold in the Middle East. His work in Australia in response to the country wide audit of existing façade systems – along with the necessary remediation & rectification work – lead him to chair a committee for Engineers Australia on “Façade Fire Safety”. The committee was commissioned with defining a risk assessment methodology, published in 2019 the Society of Fire Safety Practice Guide: Façade/External Wall Fire Safety Design. He started his career as a fire-fighter swiftly moving into consulting after graduating from the University of Leeds. Chris has lived and worked in England, Scotland, Spain, Australia and is now based in the UAE covering the MENA region.
