Director - Façade Engineering, Buro Happold
At Buro Happold, Peter leads our facade engineering team’s technical development in the field of fire performance and the team’s response to the Building Safety Act. His responsibilities include the development of internal training schemes for our engineers, developing internal design guidance and QA procedures, performing independent technical reviews and advising on combustible cladding remediation projects.
Peter’s abilities range from early-stage conceptual design and optioneering of façade systems to the delivery of detailed design information for construction and the ongoing monitoring of contractors’ final design, testing and execution of façades during the construction phase. He specialises in problem solving projects where the façade poses complex technical, performance, material and buildability challenges
Throughout his career, Peter has worked on a range of international projects and has included residential developments, bespoke cultural venues, healthcare facilities and transport hubs.
He studied Architectural Engineering at Cardiff University, and is a Chartered Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and a member of the Society of Façade Engineers. Peter has spoken at international conferences and webinars on fire and facades and sits on the Society of Façade Engineers and CWCT Fire Committee.
