Çağrı Akay joined the practice in 2006. Prior to joining Tabanlıoğlu Architects, Çağrı worked at Meyer, Scherer & Rockcastle, Ltd. (MSR), and ESG Architects, both based in Minneapolis, USA. He has worked on a wide range of cultural, commercial, civic, education and masterplan projects, including Tersane Istanbul (Imperial Arsenal) and the Kalamış Port in İstanbul. Being one of the key members of the Design Board, Çağrı Akay shares responsibility for all Tabanlioglu Architects’ projects.
Çağrı was part of the design team for Tabanlıoğlu’s exhibition, Places of Memory—Pavilion of Turkey at the 2014 Venice Architecture Biennale and in 2015, PortCityTalks,Antwerp.Istanbul – as part of Europalia Turkey in Belgium. In 2016, he designed the Collectors Lounge at Art Basel in Miami, celebrating the merging of design, art and architecture.
