Chris Thompson has been involved in the passive fire protection industry for over 20 years. He has extensive experience in the R&D, fire testing, certification and development of passive fire protection and firestopping materials for the construction market. This includes the design, installation and witnessing of multiple fire resistance tests to ASTM, UL, BS and EN fire test standards with UK, European and US based fire test laboratories. As well as fire testing of products for use in fire rated walls, floors and ceilings, there has been a particular focus on the fire testing of cavity fire barrier products and external wall systems in recent years.
He is also an active member of the Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP) and involved in working task groups on firestopping systems.
