Founding Principal, REX

Founding principal of REX, Joshua is currently working on The Perelman Performing Arts Center at the World Trade Center in New York, Brown University’s Performing Arts Center in Providence, the Necklace Residence on Long Island, and towers in Elizabeth Quay, Perth and North Quay, Brisbane. Seminal projects include the Wyly Theatre in Dallas, the Vakko Fashion Center in Istanbul, and the Seattle Central Library, which Joshua led while founding partner of OMA New York. REX recently completed 2050 M Street in Washington, DC and Five Manhattan West, the largest adaptive reuse project in New York’s history.

Joshua’s work has been recognized with multiple AIA National Honor Awards and Time magazine’s Building of the Year; in 2016, Joshua was the first American recipient of the Marcus Prize. Joshua has been a visiting professor at Columbia, Cooper Union, Harvard, MIT, Rice, Syracuse, and Yale, and received a B.A. Philosophy from Yale and an M.Arch. from Harvard.
