Associate, Heyne Tillett Steel
Gustaf is a specialist in engineered timber having worked with the material for over half a decade on designs for buildings across numerous sectors including education, commercial schools, offices, and private residential buildings. He champions the material’s widespread use within the industry, particularly promoting its sustainable potential for commercial structures.
Gustaf worked on the first modular CLT building from a UK factory, supporting the development of efficient fabrication processes. He is currently developing designs for a number of the practice’s high-profile timber frame projects, many of which are tall commercial buildings with exposed structures. He enjoys working with timber in all its forms from designing engineered timber buildings to modular construction and restoring historic oak structures.
Gustaf leads our in-house Timber Focus Group which acts as a forum to collect knowledge and ideas, formulate standard design approaches, and promotes the use of engineered timber as a viable structural solution both internal and to the wider industry. Gustaf also contributes to leading industry events and authors thought leadership articles for HTS, STA and NLA.
