Executive Director, PHIKO
Architect Jeongman Choi is the Executive Director of Passive House Institute Korea (PHIKO). He has driven passive building methodologies throughout the past 15 years in Korea. His early passive buildings initiated considerable interest and he went on to found the non-profit organization PHIKO in 2009, contributed to making passive buildings a mainstream in practice. He has designed and consulted on numerous passive building projects in Korea. Mr. Choi won the Korea Green Building Awards in 2012, 2013, 2019 and the ministerial citation of Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in 2018. In particular, he developed and delivered building-science based training on how to design and build resilient and energy efficient buildings. He has collaborated with government agencies to tailor passive building methodologies for a building industry in Korea. He has also collaborated with international institutes in Germany, Japan, United State, etc. to develop Korean passive building technologies.
