Simon Neale

Chief Property Officer, University of Auckland

Simon is an accomplished strategic leader in the development and operational management of
multi-site property portfolios and high profile buildings. He has experience spanning many
geographies including the UK, Singapore and New Zealand, and a range of prestigious organisations
within the Higher Education, Local Government, Education, and the Culture and Heritage sectors.

During his tenure at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland he has created Te Rautaki
Tūāpapa, the inaugural Estate Strategy and was instrumental in the production of Te Rautaki Aronga
Toitū, the Sustainability Strategy and Te Taumata Tukuwaro-kore, the Net Zero Carbon Strategy.

The award winning B201 redevelopment project, opened in September 2023, achieving a 6 Green
Star Certified Design rating with the highest score awarded to any New Zealand building to date.

Simon is a Board Member of the New Zealand Green Building Council and Chair of the FM
Committee for Universities New Zealand.
