Senior VP Innovation, Dragados
Dr. Miguel Segarra is the Senior Vice President of Innovation at DRAGADOS. He obtained his PhD in Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) in 2005, where he has also lectured in Masters programs. At DRAGADOS, he is responsible for defining, proposing and implementing R&D and technological innovation policies. Among other appointments on behalf of DRAGADOS, Dr. Segarra is Vice President of the European Construction and sustainable built environment Technology Platform (ECTP), where he chairs the Infrastructure and Mobility Committee. Dr. Segarra is also a member of the Management Committee of the Transport Research Arena, the largest European conference on transport and mobility, organised every two years by a different Member State. Previous appointments include: member of the Council of the European Network of Construction Companies for Research and Development (ENCORD), member of the Board of Trustees of the Spanish Construction Technology Platform (PTEC), member of the Steering Committee of the Energy Efficient Buildings Association (E2BA) and representative of the E2BA PPP (Energy Efficient Buildings Association Public-Private Partnership with the European Commission) in the Partnership Board advising the EC.
Dr. Segarra has more than 30 years of experience in research management and implementation and more than 10 years of practice in R&D and innovation systems certified under the Spanish standard UNE 166.002.
Dr. Segarra is also a former Associate Professor at the Carlos III University of Madrid and has participated in and coordinated many international and national RDI projects. Dr. Segarra is also co-author of several books, journal and conference papers.
