
Design Principal, NBBJ
Vivian Ngo is a Design Principal at the global architecture and design firm NBBJ, where she is part of the leadership team in the Los Angeles studio. From her base in LA, she leads international projects that champion innovation, vibrant urban environments, healthy communities, and environmental resilience.
Originally from Hong Kong, Vivian’s multicultural upbringing informs her thoughtful and contextual approach to design. She holds a Master of Science in Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University, where she also conducted research on housing at the Earth Institute. Her work is rooted in bold ideas, a strong sense of place, and close collaboration with clients and communities.
Vivian’s diverse portfolio spans Asia and the U.S., including landmark projects such as Swire’s Two Taikoo Place in Hong Kong, Tencent’s Binhai Headquarters and Dachanwan Masterplan, vivo’s Global Headquarters in Shenzhen, Samsung’s American Headquarters, and a confidential hospital project in Southern California.
Her work has been honored by the AIA, MIPIM Asia, Fast Company, CREDAWARDS, and CTBUH. Beyond her professional work, Vivian is deeply engaged in urban storytelling. She has illustrated books and created an interactive Map website on Hong Kong’s evolving coastline, celebrating the city’s history and natural landscape through design.
