
Esq., President and CEO, New York Building Congress
Carlo A. Scissura, Esq. is President & CEO of the New York Building Congress, a role he has held since 2017. Under his leadership, the organization has seen record membership growth, expanded regional influence, and strengthened advocacy for infrastructure investment across all levels of government.
Before joining the Building Congress, Carlo served as President & CEO of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, transforming it into one of New York’s largest and most impactful business advocacy organizations, with membership increasing by more than 200 percent. Earlier in his career, he was Chief of Staff and General Counsel to Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, where he helped drive major economic development initiatives and restructured Borough Hall operations.
A graduate of Pace University and Pace Law School, Carlo previously managed a successful law practice in Brooklyn and began his career in public service with State Senator Vincent Gentile and Assemblyman Peter Abbate.
