Tasos Poulokefalos

Associate & Structural Engineer, Interface Facades UK

Tasos Poulokefalos was born in 1989 in Sparta, Greece. He studied Civil Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens, specializing in Structural Engineering, and graduated in 2013. He subsequently continued his studies in Edinburgh, UK where he completed his MSc in 2016.

In 2016, he began working as a façade structural engineer at Newtecnic in Cambridge, UK. During his present at Newtecnic, he was involved in the design and delivery of major projects, including the Central and Western Metro Station (KAFD), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and the Grand Théâtre de Rabat, Rabat, Morocco, whose architectural design was developed by Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA).

Since 2018, he has been working as a façade engineer at Interface Façade Engineering, based in London. He is involved in projects across the UK as well as in international projects, undertaking the design and technical support of complex structures.

He specializes in building façades and modern façade engineering, approaching the building envelope not only from a structural perspective but also in terms of energy performance. Modern constructions and their increased performance requirements make thermal, solar and acoustic analysis, together with the selection of appropriate materials, fundamental components of an integrated sustainable design.

He is a member of the CIBSE (Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers), SFE Society of Façade Engineers, and the Technical Chamber of Greece (TEE).
