At Powerhouse Company, I’m in charge of public projects – such as train stations, university facilities, cinemas and social meetings points – and complex inner-city commercial projects, which are mainly residential with a public and cultural component to them.
My whole life I’ve loved being creative. From music to graphics, video and photography. For me, being an architect embodies the idea of a holistic approach to creativity. I was initially attracted to Powerhouse Company because of its design power and its strong integration with engineering, through which we shape unique architecture for our clients and future users. Also, the vibe in the office is truly unique and results in a culture of togetherness.
It’s hard to name my most memorable moment at the office as there have been so many! One that stands out was winning the competition for Merckt and the presentation we did for Groningen’s residents, which was amazing for everyone, from team to client to community. The project has developed into a truly unique building featuring many innovative design solutions.
