Elena K. Tsolakis is a chartered architect and founding partner of the award-winning practice Kyriakos Tsolakis Architects, based in Cyprus and the UK. Notable works of the practice include Cyprus’s first purpose-built Women’s Shelter, a wellness retreat in Mykonos, and the landmark National Star Observatory, winner of the best completed Civic and Community building at the 2024 World Architecture Festival and Overall Winner of the SHARE Architecture Awards 2025. Featured in the recent publication ‘100 Women: Architects in Practice’, Elena is recognised as a leading voice of thoughtful, contemporary architecture. A champion of architecture’s cultural role, she has held senior positions at the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), including Presidential Ambassador for the Culture of Architecture and elected twice chair of its cultural outreach programme, including oversight over the largest collection of architectural “objects” in the world. She is passionate about the civic impact of architecture and is at the forefront of advocating for and shaping a better architectural future.
