Zach Wiegand joined Thornton Tomasetti in 2013 and has more than 24 years of experience in engineering, project management, and construction. He specializes in structural glass design, dynamic systems, cable and tensile structures, and finite element analysis. His technical experience includes the design, analysis, detailing, fabrication, and erection of complex façade systems, as well as air and water infiltration testing, wind-borne debris impact testing, and wind tunnel testing. Zach has worked across the full project lifecycle, from developing performance criteria and evaluating design alternatives through construction administration, testing, and field implementation. He applies advanced analytical methods and comprehensive knowledge of codes and standards to develop practical, cost-effective solutions for challenging façade designs.
