Carlos Piles is the Europe Director at Ductal®, a member of LafargeHolcim. Before joining Ductal®, he had an extended and international experience in the construction industry. As an Architect, he worked for well-known offices such as Zaha Hadid Architects, Skidmore Owings & Merrill and NBBJ on projects in the Commercial, Residential, Institutional, mix-use and infrastructure sectors in Asia, Europe and Middle East. His project experience on these firms includes Institute of Food & Health in Norwich, Nanjing International Youth Cultural Centre, Baltimore Wharf development in London and Bangalore Airport among others.
Carlos holds a Master in Architecture & Urbanism from the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London and a Master in Business Administration from International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Lausanne. Pursuing his passion for innovation and during his masters at the AA School, Carlos together with three colleagues developed an innovative and sustainable method of design &construction for complex geometries called Cast on Cast which got recognized and awarded twice by LafargeHolcim Foundation.
Carlos’ interests include outdoor sports such as running, football and skiing. He also enjoys spending time with his family, travelling and discovering new places to eat.
