Associate – Façade Engineering, Arup
Vance Sim is an Associate with Arup Façade Engineering Group Singapore.
His hands-on experience of all processes at both site and fabrication, which he gained during his early years in the industry, had given him a broad base knowledge on design, production and site issues. With this broad based knowledge of the façade systems and processes, combined with his exposure to various building owners and managing agents, he has gained an edge to tailor specific strategies with stakeholders to complete projects in a cost –efficient and timely manner
His versatility extended his exposure into commercial, retail, residential, hospitality projects and retrofitting existing buildings, dealing with complex free-form geometry façades, high performance curtain wall systems, metal facades systems, and existing façade systems.
Vance’s experience with retail buildings had also led to an interest on the façade design of retail shopfronts with renowned international brands.
His wide experiences in complex façade systems includes sustainable façade design, with a lot of involvement in Greenmark Platinum buildings, with advice to Clients and Architects on passive design strategies to achieve sustainable and Greenmark targets.
