Director - Virtual Construction Lab, Schüco
Dr. Tejav DeGanyar is the Head of the Virtual Construction Laboratory of Schüco, one of the leading suppliers of the high-quality window, door, and façade systems worldwide. He oversees a broad base of R&D initiatives ranging from façade related acoustical research to the development of tools for operational systems automation. He manages a dedicated team of designers, engineers and software specialists in New York City. Before joining Schuco, DeGanyar was the Vice president of R&D at Enclos Corp. DeGanyar started his career as one of the founding principal of ASI Advanced Structures Incorporated (ASI), a Company that provided design, engineering, product development, and design/build services to the building marketplace, on a wide variety of high profile commercial projects. He has unique expertise in the design of long span and lightweight building technology including space frames, glazed tension structures, and tensioned membrane structures, expertise derived from over 35 years of experience developing hundreds of design solutions incorporating these technologies. He holds a Ph.D. in Structural Mechanics from the University of Southern California, where he lectured in the Civil Engineering department for many years. DeGanyar is a registered professional engineer in several states and a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) where he served on the Task Committee on Double-Layer Grids, which authored the ASCE publication Guidelines for the Design of Double-Layer Grids.
