Akis Valalis

Owner and General Manager, i-BUiLD

Mr. Akis Valalis is the founder (in 2010) and General Manager of Ariston glass, with a significant presence both in Greece and internationally outside Greece, and i-BUiLD (in 2017), a consulting and contracting firm specializing in a building’s envelope, including both glass and aluminum elements of facades and window frames.

He studied Economics at USC and holds an MBA from the OU Business School in the United Kingdom, and for the past 18 years has been involved in the glass and related construction industry, and has been successfully involved in projects all over the world (i.e. the Microsoft Headquarters building in Tel Aviv, the Ritz Carlton Residences tower in Limassol etc.)

He is a regular member of  both Greek ELOT/TEE technical committees, which participate in the creation of the European standards concerning buildings and constructions through CEN/Technical Committee 33 (doors and windows), CEN/Technical Committee 129 (glass in buildings), as well as the technical committee for ISO TC 162 (Doors, Windows, and Curtain walling), which determine how products in the aluminum and glass industry are both manufactured and installed.

For the past year, he is serving as Vice President of the Panhellenic Federation of Glass Panel Traders and Manufacturers.
