Partner, Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios
Alex Whitbread joined Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios’ London office in 1998 and was made a Partner in 2007. Alex works across a range of projects in the practice, focusing on urban design and large-scale city centre buildings. Working in this sector has given Alex experience in education, commercial office, cultural and residential building types which help to inform the design of robust and deliverable masterplanning strategies. Alex has worked on a number of major regeneration projects in the London and across the UK, particularly in the north in Manchester and Leeds.
Alex’s focus has tended to be at the early stages of projects leading the conceptual approach to projects and the character of the architecture.
As an integral part of this work he has developed an interest in façade design and the potential for materials and technologies to create contextual and particular places in today’s cities. Alex has worked with brick, metal and stone but has been working extensively in ceramic over recent years across a number of UK projects.
