
Design Principal, HDR
Alison Potter is a Design Principal at HDR with more than two decades of international experience leading complex architecture, master planning, and urban design initiatives across the health, research, civic, cultural, transport, and mixed-use sectors. She has held senior design leadership roles at Grimshaw, Hassell, and Foster + Partners, guiding multidisciplinary teams and major city-shaping projects in Australia, the United Kingdom, and the Middle East. A Living Future Accredited Professional, Alison is recognised for advancing regenerative and low-carbon design and contributes to national climate action, sustainability, and design review panels. Her practice is grounded in a systems-based design approach that brings together spatial strategy, environmental performance, materiality, and community value. She is committed to interdisciplinary collaboration and working closely with designers, engineers, clients, and stakeholders to deliver resilient, human-centred built environments that create long-term cultural and ecological value.
