Technical Consultant, Serge Ferrari Stamisol

Allan has worked in the building services industry for over 30 years; holding several senior positions of Managing Director and Vice President for ventilation manufacturing companies. For the past 9 years has worked via his consultancy business, focusing on smoke control, for both mechanical and passive systems.

Allan is an associate member of the Society of Façade Engineers. CIBSE and BESA. He was chair of a BSI working group on smoke fan servicing, and acted as technical consultant for the Smoke Control Association before focusing on the development of A2 wall membranes, following the Grenfell Tower fire.

Allan works as Technical Consultant for Stamisol UK, a Serge Ferrari Group company, raising the profile of Class A2 vertical wall membranes as part of a façade system with W1 water proofness, breathability, with fold, tear and fire resistance.

Allan presents a series of RIBA and CIBSE approved CPD’s on A2 membranes and the need for change to ADB part 4, to remove membranes from the A2 product exempt listing as part of an A2 Façade system. He is a strong advocate of independent testing of fire products, coupled to competence of installers.
