
Andrew Vere-Jones is a senior architect in the Building Performance and Engineering team at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE). He has over 30 years’ experience in architecture and related fields.
Andrew’s expertise covers all aspects of the building regulatory system, building code requirements, and building envelopes. He provides technical advice on buildings and building work to inform regulatory decisions and policy proposals affecting the building sector. He has led the development of new and updated documents used to support building code compliance, including Acceptable Solutions, Verification Methods, Standards, and guidance information.
Andrew’s experience includes five years as a technical advisor in the Weathertight Services Group at MBIE. He also has experience in running an architectural practice, teaching, and technical writing.
