Anne-Laure Chappat is a chartered façade engineer and architect with over a decade of international experience in building envelope design and performance. She holds a combined Master’s degree in Civil Engineering and Architecture that she obtained in Paris, France, where she began her career before relocating to Australia in 2015.
Throughout her career, Anne-Laure has contributed to a diverse range of projects across France, Europe, and Australia, bringing a unique multidisciplinary perspective that bridges architectural creativity and engineering precision. Her experience spans all stages of the façade design and construction process—from early concept development and detailed system design to diagnostics of existing façades, specification, tendering, and review of subcontractor designs and installations.
Anne-Laure’s particular strengths lie in detailed façade system design, thermal assessment, and energy modelling. Chartered in both mechanical and structural engineering, she combines deep technical expertise with a design-led mindset to deliver innovative, high-performing, and sustainable façade solutions.
After spending 10 years refining her expertise at BG&E, Anne-Laure joined Meinhardt, where she now plays a leading role in supporting and developing the firm’s Facades Team. She is passionate about advancing façade design as a discipline that harmonises performance, sustainability, and aesthetics—creating building envelopes that respond intelligently to both climate and context. Her design approach focuses on bridging architecture and engineering to create façades that are both beautiful, robust and sustainable.
