Balesh holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and boasts over 15 years of extensive expertise in façade and structural engineering. His career in façade engineering includes pivotal roles at GJames, Australia’s foremost integrated Glass & Aluminium manufacturer, and Meinhardt, one of the largest independent engineering consultancies. Throughout these positions, he played a crucial part in executing numerous commercial and residential high-rise projects. Presently, he serves as the Façade Engineering Lead, QLD, at Arup.
A dedicated contributor to collaborative research initiatives, Balesh specializes in pioneering secure design solutions for façade systems. His proficiency extends to academia, where he played a significant role in establishing a façade engineering course at a university. His deep commitment to the industry is evidenced through active participation as a technical committee member for several Australian Standards, notably influencing recent updates to glazing standards. His contributions have garnered him recognition and prestigious accolades, including the ‘Emerging Leader Award’ and ‘Standards Hero’ from Standards Australia. Presently, Balesh chairs Engineers Australia’s Structural College Queensland, further underscoring his unwavering dedication to the profession.
