Ben Isaacs joined WJE with ten years of structural engineering consultancy experience, including analysis, design, coordination, and construction review of building structures and components of various types.
His primary areas of expertise include the analysis, design and evaluation of structural steel and reinforced concrete building structures. His project experience includes the design of complex structures, high-rise buildings, deep basements, hybrid construction and building re-use. He has assessed the failure of structural systems consisting of steel, concrete, and timber; evaluated in situ structure vibration characteristics; and evaluated seismic fragility of building frames.
Prior to his consultancy experience, Dr. Isaacs studied at Cardiff University – School of Engineering, where he completed his PhD in Self-Healing Cementitious Materials. Dr. Isaacs is a lead and contributing author to several international journal publications and has given numerous conference presentations.
