Chrystall Thomas

Sustainability Engineer, BuroHappold Engineering

Chrystall Thomas received her Bachelors of Engineering with Honors in Architectural Engineering from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland, and recently finished her Masters at University College London(UCL) in pursuit of an MSc. Environmental Design and Engineering degree. Her studies have equipped her with Revit, AutoCAD, and IES skills that were implemented in building services exercises including heating and cooling load demand calculations, basic psychrometry, overheating analysis, HVAC systemizing. She has done load calculations and system sizing using CIBSE and ASHRAE standards and equations. Chrystall’s main interests within the degree was in studying Post Occupancy Evaluation as well as human satisfaction with built spaces (thermal comfort, sick building syndrome, the wellbeing of occupants). Further to this, her postgraduate study has taught Chrystall how to implement these building physics concepts in sustainably conscious manner.
