Dan Piselli

Daniel Piselli is the Director of Sustainability and a Principal at FXCollaborative, a New York City-based architecture, interiors, and planning design firm. He has over 25 years of experience as an architect and has led design teams on residential, educational, cultural, and infrastructure projects, including the Statue of Liberty Museum. Dan now directs FXC’s sustainability efforts, working with each project team to design healthier buildings that are better stewards of the environment. He has extensive experience in sustainable design, including new buildings and deep energy retrofit projects. Dan has expertise in building envelope efficiency, which he uses to support priorities like electrification, Local Law 97 compliance, and resilience. His current projects include Arverne East Building D, a mixed-use, affordable housing project, and La Central Building C, a fully affordable housing project, both of which are pursuing Passive House certification and were winners of NYSERDA’s Buildings of Excellence Competition. Dan worked on the recent renovation of New York University’s Rubin Hall, which is one of the largest EnerPHit certified residential buildings in the world and is LEED Platinum, and authored a groundbreaking study for NYSERDA “Feasibility Study to Implement the Passivhaus Standard on Tall Residential Buildings”. Dan was a member of the NYC 2025 Energy Code Advisory Committee and is an AIANY COTE Policy Subcommittee Co-Chair. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from University of Kentucky.
