Associate Director - Façades, Arup
Darren Kent is an Associate Director at Arup and is based in London as a member of the facade leadership team. He studied at Warwick University (Civil Engineering) and Bath University (Façade Engineering). He has worked in the façade industry for 22 years, before joining Arup he spent 15 years working for façade contractors and fabricators. Darren has been responsible for custom designed facades at all stages of the project cycle and has worked on many high profile and award winning projects, examples include the Crystal in London (Wilkinson Eyre), the Silo in Capetown (Heatherwick Studio) and the Diamond Bridge in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park (Heneghan Peng). The breadth and depth of his experience enable him to bring a holistic perspective to his work, built on knowledge and expertise in the design, sourcing, fabrication, testing, construction and operation of façade systems.
