Business Development Director, Arcora
Diter BRAET grew up in Ghent in a family where his grandfather, uncles and cousins were/are architects. He decided to become a civil engineer, believing that technology should serve aesthetics. He graduated from the school CHEC in Paris in 2005 and joined the Belgian steel construction company VBSC the same year. After a few years, he returned to Paris to set up VBSC’s Paris office. He worked on major projects alongside internationally and nationally renowned architects such as Zaha Hadid, Calatrava, KPF, Marc Mimram.
In 2016 he joined Arcora as deputy director, building on his first managerial experience. Arcora is a design office specialising in building envelope technology, combining structural and facade design. Arcora aims to raise awareness and stimulate change in construction methods as early as possible in the design process and has developed the software ecale.io which is in opensource. Together with his team of façade experts, Diter collaborated on the design & execution of the following projects : Philharmonie de Paris (AJN), Exhibition & Convention Center MEET in Toulouse (OMA), Geneva AirPort Aile-Est (RSHP), HQ Arcelor in Luxembourg (W&A), HQ CFL in Luxembourg (Metaform).
