Selina Lin

Selina is Technical Manager for passive fire protection in the Engineering Department of Hilti Hong Kong Ltd. In this role, she has provided consultancy on passive fire protection to architects and mechanical and plumbing consultants, including government projects, commercial/residential building and civil projects. She has vast project experiences on passive fire protection design, not only from Hong Kong local design but also from the state-of-art international standards and design.

Prior to join Hilti, Selina was a Senior Engineer at Du Pont Apollo ltd., responsible for product research and development in solar-power industry. In the capacity, she and the team developed the world-class high efficiency silicon thin-film tandem solar panels and supervised the manufacture production line with six sigma control guideline.

Selina pursued her Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Department of Chemical Engineering in Hong Kong University of Science and Technology from 2005 to 2009. Her research area is high mechanical performance of polymer nanocomposites by surface-modification on nanoparticles. She has published nine international journey papers and shared her research results in three international conferences. She also contributed to one book chapter about theory and mechanism of high performance polymer nanocomposites. Selina obtained her bachelor degree in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering in Tsing Hua University Beijing, in 2005.
