Edward Marchand

Associate Director – Europe, Bennetts Associates

Edward is developing Bennetts Associates’ European profile and timber buildings portfolio. His studies in both architecture and structural engineering, have allowed him to acquire design skills which embrace multi-disciplinary working. Edward was involved with the regeneration of King’s Cross in London including the conversion of the historic Midland Goods Shed and a new all-timber community Sports Hall; the practice’s lowest embodied carbon building to date.

He is currently leading the design of an all-timber office scheme in the London Borough of Barnet. Edward has worked in Belgium, the Netherlands and France and led competitions including Ghent Opera House, Theatre De Tamboer in Hoogeveen, and Theatre De Molenberg in Delfzijl, as well as the design of a new workplace in Athens. He has tutored at the University of Ghent and acted as visiting critic at the Department of Architecture at the University of Cambridge and the Architectural Association. Edward is a Design Council CABE Design Review Panel Member.
