Project Design Manager, Permasteelisa North America

Emily Carr is a Project Design Manager at Permasteelisa North America, a design-build contractor of architectural envelopes and interior systems. At Permasteelisa North America, Emily manages the curtain wall design and modeling process, digital fabrication information, and technical coordination efforts on a project. She was instrumental in developing the 3D toolkit
which Permasteelisa Group uses to manage estimating, design, fabrication and installation of complex geometry projects, including MIRA in San Francisco and Beekman Tower in NYC . In addition to her current role, she has performed various design roles since joining the Permasteelisa team in 2005 including thermal analysis, software development, 3D Team Leader, and 3D Department Manager. She is passionate about deploying new digital fabrication technologies to improve the curtain wall design and manufacturing process. Emily received her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with high distinction from the University of Iowa.
