Director, Knippers Helbig
Florian Scheible has joined Knippers Helbig in 2003, since 2013 he manages the Knippers Helbig branch office in Berlin. He is a trained architect and certified façade engineer working at the intersection of architecture, structural design and building envelopes. With over 20 years of experience he has gained a deep knowledge of structural behavior, environmental design and material technology.
His major interest is on the integration of complex boundary conditions and the continuous search for innovative solutions. This goes hand in hand with his focus on the development of digital process chains and the application of parametric planning tools. He is chairman of the Working Committee for Digitization at the Berlin Chamber of Architects.
His portfolio shows a large range of projects from megastructures to art installations. Major international projects were the world wide recognized International Airport in Shenzhen with Massimiliano Fukas and the 2010 World Expo Axis in Shanghai. Recent projects are the Gothenburg Cable Car with UNStudio, the Trumpf Showroom in Chicago with Barkow Leibinger and the Reverberation Galerie in Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin with hgmerz. Current Projects in Berlin are the Europaplatz-Tower with Allmann Sattler next to Hauptbahnhof and Voltair with JMayerH.
