Partner and Architect Frans de Witte joined MVRDV in 1996.
As director of MVRDV’s Americas studio, he is currently overseeing projects in North and South America, and also in the Netherlands. Examples of those projects are the six residential towers comprising The Hills in Ecuador, as well as The Modernist in Rotterdam, the Glass Mural in Detroit, residential developments in Boston, Eindhoven, Rotterdam and Amsterdam, and laboratory buildings in Toronto and Shanghai.
Frans is supervisor of Flight Forum in Eindhoven, and greatly experienced in construction projects. Completed MVRDV projects on which he has worked include Silodam in Amsterdam (2003), the Balancing Barn in Suffolk (2010), Glass Farm in Schijndel (2013), the 27,200 square meter high-rise Radio Tower and Hotel in Manhattan (2022), the sustainable, fully demountable office and laboratory complex Matrix ONE in Amsterdam, and the mixed-use Mission Rock building in San Francisco (2023).
