Associate Director, UNStudio
Garett Hwang is an Associate Director at UNStudio, and has been with the office since 2011. She has worked on numerous projects and competitions in Asia, ranging in scale and complexity, from mixed-use to master plans to pavilions. Garett worked in depth on the Raffles City Hangzhou project, which was brought to completion in 2017. Currently she oversees the daily management of UNStudio’s Hong Kong office and such projects as the Lyric Theatre Complex in the West Kowloon Cultural District, as well as a large-scale, mixed-use development in Malaysia. Throughout her career, Garett has focused on the incorporation of computational methods and workflows in design to benefit construction, cost, and quality control of complex building geometries.
Garett received her Masters of Architecture from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and her Bachelor of Art from Brown University.
