Founding Principal, SHoP Architects
Gregg Pasquarelli is a founding principal of SHoP. He established and has been at the center of a collaborative and innovative practice in creating new models for design, master planning and real estate development to define the context of cities and transform communities. Gregg has led many of the most complex and dynamic SHoP projects, including The Porter House, Barclays Center, the East River Waterfront Esplanade and Pier 17, the American Copper Buildings and the second-tallest tower in Manhattan, 111 West 57th Street, all influential contributions to the life and character of NYC. His current work includes the new Fulbright University Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City, new towers in Rotterdam, Miami, Toronto and Los Angeles, the recently completed Midtown Center, a one million square foot mixed-use commercial complex in Washington, D.C., centered around a new public square, and 9 DeKalb, which will be the first supertall structure in Brooklyn. Gregg lectures and publishes globally and has held chaired professorships at schools including Yale University, Columbia University and The University of Virginia. He is a recipient of the Tau Sigma Delta Gold Medal from the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture and in 2016 was inducted as a lifetime honoree Academician in the National Academy of Design.
