Hauke Jungjohann has more than 20 years of international practical experience as a civil engineer and architect in the world’s most innovative companies in the industry. In leadership positions at Buro Happold, Thornton Tomasetti and Knippers Helbig, he has worked with architects such as Bjarke Ingels, Zaha Hadid, Frank Gehry, Grimshaw and Herzog & de Meuron.
His expertise includes materials science, parametric design, form finding, and digital information transfer throughout the design and construction process. A major focus of his work is materials research, resulting in the development of innovative façade solutions. His passions are projects that bring together engineering challenges with strong aesthetics and sustainable climate performance, customized software solutions in the design process, the creation of cooperative team structures, and interdisciplinary collaborations with project partners from business, art and science.
Hauke Jungjohann regularly speaks at international conferences and has taught in the U.S. and Europe at Columbia University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), ETH Zurich, the University of Stuttgart, and the Technical University of Braunschweig.
