Hussam is the founder of HAGarchitects which is based in Dubai and has over 28 years of architecture experience. He specializes in envisioning complex multidisciplinary projects for which his integrated design approach delivers the highest quality design solutions. His strongest point is his experience in leading large multidisciplinary design teams to deliver international and local mega projects with the main emphasis on high quality sustainable design. He has developed expertise in high rise buildings besides a wide spectrum of other building types including mixed use complexes, hotels, residential buildings, affordable housing, commercial offices, retail, museums, airports, cruise terminals, mosques, master-planning and urban design.
Some of the awards that Hussam has won recently include MIPIM Award for the best future Tall building in 2016 for Viceroy Dubai Jumeirah Village hotel. The same project has been awarded the Middle East Architect MEA for the best hospitality project for 2015.
Hussam additionally has extensive international experience, having been the lead designer on projects in Egypt, France, UAE, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Libya, India and Russia and enjoys working with Atkins’ multi- disciplinary and multi-cultural international design teams. Some of the projects that Hussam has designed include Viceroy Dubai Jumeirah Village- a 70 story hotel tower in Dubai, Kazan tower- a 70 story mixed use tower in Kazan and a LEED platinum ICT hotel in Hyderabad.
Hussam has a master degree in sustainable design in Built Environment. His Master thesis is about Sustainable Budget Housing for Developing Countries which offers a different solution to the affordable housing.
