João Simões of Martifer Metallic Constructions is an Engineer by background, with a Master in Civil Engineering from University of Aveiro in Portugal, but soon after starting his professional career he quickly realised that he’s true passion was not the engineering itself, but rather managing people and processes.
João is a senior executive with an extensive experience in turning around and growing businesses across a wide range of sectors and three continents.
Since joining Martifer Metallic Constructions in January 2015, João has developed a passion for façades and, after heading the UK business for three years, he currently leads the commercial, pre-construction, fabrication and construction executive teams across all regions and subsidiaries for the façade’s business. João oversees the operations in some of the most important and demanding cities in the world, such as Lisbon, Madrid, Paris and London, enabling him to work closely with some of the international leading practices in façades and to contribute to the successful delivery of several prestigious and high profile projects across Europe.
Optimistic by nature, João is driven by leading teams in obtaining the best possible outcome for all stakeholders.
