Graduated from the School of Planning and Architecture in New Delhi, Alok DeCruz is Director-Projects at Morphogenesis, one of India’s leading award-winning Architecture and Urban Design practices. The firm has been ranked yet again, for the twelfth time running, among the Top 100 Architectural Design Firms worldwide by Building Design Magazine, UK in WA100 2023. The practice is the recipient of over 130 international and national Awards which include being India’s first World Architecture Festival Award winners, 5 Indian Institute of Architects Awards, and Laureates of the Singapore Institute of Architects Getz Award. The firm’s works have been featured in over 1000 publications/journals, both International and National.
Alok has over a decade of comprehensive experience in design and execution of multiple projects and currently heads the Mumbai & Pune studio. His body of work spans across a diverse range of typologies such as commercial, residential, offices, hospitality and institutional projects which are both environmentally and financially sustainable. Alok focuses on complete environments, building performance, community, integrated infrastructure and economic potential. He uses a collaborative approach to create and deliver outstanding end-user experiences. Over the past few years, he has developed a vision to deliver a new generation of design which is sustainable, global and timeless.
Some of his award-winning projects include the Pearl Academy in Jaipur which received India’s first World Architecture Festival (WAF) Award for the Best Learning Building in 2009. His current work includes the Zydus Corporate Office Ahmedabad, Trump Towers in Gurugram – the tallest twin towers in North India, Residential and High Street Retail Development in Pune for Tribeca Developers, Commercial Development for K Raheja in Hyderabad spanning 3.5 million sq.ft., Surat Diamond Bourse – World’s largest single office building, Nima University Bhutan, Business Park for Courtyard Ltd. Dhaka, BSE Brokers Forum Commercial Project in GIFT City, IT-SEZ project for Tata Realty and Infrastructure Ltd in Gurugram, Commercial Developments for Sunteck Realty among others.
Alok has contributed to various publications and has lectured extensively with his most recent one at the Global Green Build Summit, India. He is also a winner of the “50 Under 40” architects, an accolade presented by Architect and Interiors, India.
