Design Principal, KPF
John Bushell, as Design Principal at Kohn Pedersen Fox, has achieved critical acclaim for his innovative and distinctive commercial and mixed-use buildings around the world.
Drawing on KPF’s global expertise, John has incorporated the tenets of mixed-use design into high-profile tall buildings in London including the recently completed One Crown Place in Hackney and DAMAC Tower in Nine Elms. A recognised authority in the field, he is part of New London Architecture’s Expert Panel on Tall Buildings.
An advocate for architectural reuse, John has led some of the firm’s most important transformation projects including Unilever House, which preserved an historic exterior whilst completely modernizing the interior and South Bank Tower in Southwark, converting a 1970s office tower into a mixed-use development.
John has a detailed understanding of what makes a successful city, he is currently leading the design on 81 Newgate Street, the transformation of a 198o’s office to create a sustainable building that will improve the public realm and advance the City of London’s goal of creating a more inclusive, 24/7 destination.
