Technical Director - Envelopes, AKTII
Jose Montes is the technical director within the envelopes team of the design-led engineering practice AKT II and is currently overseeing the envelopes design for many large developments internationally.
He originally gained his master’s in mechanical engineering with the University of Seville, in Spain and initially designed cryogenic and re-gasification facilities, and industrial transport and distribution facilities, for the oil and gas sector. He then became a technical manager with an aluminium corporation, and developed various commercial and bespoke envelope systems while expanding the group’s technical and production capability.
Jose accordingly can offer an expert knowledge of metalwork and fabrication. He later joined the engineering firm Thornton Tomasetti as an associate director in London, and worked on projects throughout London, Europe and the USA, before moving to AKT II as an associate director in 2016.
