Jose Pedro Recio

Ar. Bong Recio received his Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from the University of Sto. Tomas and is a member of the United Architects of the Philippines, a Fellow of the Philippine Institute of Architects, an Associate member of the American Institute of Architects, and ASEAN architect.

RCHITECTS, Inc. was established in 2008 by Jose Pedro (Bong) C. Recio, after 20 years as a partner in his former firm RECIO+CASAS.

Jose Pedro C. Recio started his international career in architecture when he moved to Hong Kong in 1976, where his position as Assistant Architect in Eric Cumine Associates paved the way to his exposure to numerous project types. In 1978, he joined Wong Tung International as Design Architect and stayed on for six years. M. Moiser Associates, Ltd. invited Mr. Recio to join the firm as an Associate in 1984 and subsequently accepted an offer of partnership in 1986.

Ar. Bong Recio co-founded Recio+Casas in 1988 in Hong Kong and moved back to the Philippines in 1992. Since then, he has been responsible for the design of major projects in Metro Manila such as The Church of the Gesu in Ateneo. The Church was subsequently awarded the first Haligi ng Dangal award for Architecture by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts in 2017. Other projects include the 17-storey FEU Tech Building, Twin Oaks in Mandaluyong, and the Bohol Bellevue Resort Hotel in Panglao Island.

RCHITECTS, Inc. has quickly established itself as a firm that thrives on its expertise in design, encompassing residential, commercial, hospitality, and institutional work.
