Julia Erdem

Associate, BDP

Julia is the BDP façade lead on the KGX1 project. She has a keen interest in environmental issues and is part of the BDP sustainability champions group. She studied in Germany, Australia, France and the UK. She has an MSc in Architecture: Advanced Environmental and Energy Studies. With prior professional experience in Germany and France, she started her UK career in 2002 where she fulfilled the role of Head of Sustainability alongside her main role as Architect at a West London practice. She led a range of housing, community and school projects and has experience using cross laminated timber (CLT) during the design/detailing stages and on site.

Before her move to BDP, she worked for Glenn Howells on large scale retail and housing schemes.

At BDP, she worked on Westgate Oxford, and amongst other projects on the Astra Zeneca Project, Cambridge alongside Herzog & de Meuron.

Julia is a member of the Design Review Panels for Hackney and Lewisham Council and previously also Islington.
